The intention of this entry is to give a quick idea of the uses of the new Konica Minolta equipment installed at Universidad Miguel Hern\u00e1ndez.<\/p>\n

Specifically, we will now focus on how to use the copy<\/strong> function that appears in the initial menu of a printer from the centralized printing service.\"\"<\/p>\n

The last function key is “Copy”, which allows us to copy all types of originals, both manually placed on the screen and in the original feeder. Pressing it takes us to the following menu.\"\"<\/p>\n

In it, we can clearly see the following buttons: Original Type, Color, Density, Paper, Zoom, Duplex\/Combine, and Finish.<\/p>\n

Original Type and Color\"\"<\/strong><\/p>\n

As seen in the image, we can select various types of documents, informing the machine what type of document it is and applying the appropriate processing to obtain the best copy quality.<\/p>\n

In the Color section, we will choose how we want the copy: Automatic Color (The machine judges the type of original and copies it accordingly), Color (Forces the copy to be in color), Black (The most desirable option for economic reasons), and lastly, other less frequently used options.<\/p>\n

Density\"\"<\/strong><\/p>\n

From this screen, we will adjust the image density based on the original. If the original is very light, we will darken it (Increase the density) to get the desired result, and vice versa, if the document is very dark, we will move the cursor towards “Light” to try to make it cleaner.<\/p>\n

Paper<\/strong><\/p>\n

Given the wide variety of media that the machine supports, normal paper is usually used, but sometimes we need to use letterhead, greetings, envelopes, thicker paper, and for that, we need to familiarize ourselves with the paper section.<\/p>\n

The machine comes with two trays at the front and a manual feed for all those media that we will use and do not want to touch the trays. The machine usually has 90-gram A4 paper by default. If a lot of A3 paper is used, users often dedicate a tray for it, and the manual feed is for all those formats that deviate from the norm.<\/p>\n

If we want to modify the characteristics of the machine’s trays because we are going to use special paper, we will do it as follows: select the Paper icon:\"\"<\/p>\n

The previous screen appears, select the tray you want to modify:\"\"<\/p>\n

Once selected, press the “Change Tray Settings” key, which takes us to the following menu:\"\"<\/p>\n

From this screen, we can define the options for the type of paper we want.<\/p>\n

It is important that when we finish our work, we leave the tray in Normal Paper, Automatic Detection. If this action is not performed, the machine will not know what to do when it receives a print job and will stop, asking for the appropriate paper, causing inconvenience and frustration.<\/p>\n

Zoom\"\"<\/strong><\/p>\n

From this screen, we can enlarge or reduce the document to fit the selected paper.<\/p>\n

Duplex\/Combine<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the Duplex\/Combine section, we have several options applied to the treatment of the document to be copied:\"\"<\/p>\n

From this screen, we can select if we want the machine to make, for example, a double-sided original exactly the same. For this, we would select the 2Sides>2Sides button, or if we have a double-sided original and want it to be in separate copies, we would choose 2Sides>1Side. The icons are graphic enough to see what the copy output will be.<\/p>\n

And in the Combine section, when we have PowerPoint-type documents, we can put several documents on one side of the same.<\/p>\n

Finish<\/strong><\/p>\n

In this section, we can staple the printed set, either one staple in the corner or two centered.\"\"<\/p>\n

As seen on the screen, we can choose the type of finish.<\/p>\n
