In this article, we will learn how to change our profile picture using the mobile application of the Universidad Miguel Hern\u00e1ndez. The application is available for both Android and iOS in their respective app stores.<\/p>\n

By uploading the photo, you are authorizing UMH to use it to verify your identity<\/strong>, so you declare that the image is of yourself, does not contain offensive or illegal content, and does not infringe the rights of third parties.<\/p>\n

Detailed Guide<\/strong><\/p>\n

Below is the process to follow from the Android version of the application. The process is similar for iOS devices.<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Access the UMH app and tap on the three horizontal \"\" bars that appear at the top left of the screen.\"\"<\/li>\n
  2. When the side menu opens, select the camera<\/strong> icon.\"\"<\/li>\n
  3. Now we can choose whether we want to take a new photo<\/strong> or select one of our photos already in the gallery<\/strong>.\"\"<\/li>\n
  4. If we select the option “Choose from your gallery<\/strong>“, the system will ask us to give the UMH app<\/strong> access to our gallery. For the application to work correctly, we need to select “Allow<\/strong>“.\"\"<\/li>\n
  5. On Android, the system will ask where our files are located. On iOS, once we have given the application full access to our photo library, the photos stored on our device will be displayed.\"\"<\/li>\n
  6. If, on the other hand, we select the option “Take a photo with the camera<\/strong>“, the application will allow us to take a photograph. We must frame our image within the grid that appears and tap “Crop<\/strong>“.\"\"<\/li>\n
  7. Once the photograph is taken, we must accept the terms and conditions<\/strong> and tap “Send PHOTO<\/strong>“.\"\"<\/li>\n
  8. The process may take some time to complete<\/strong>. We will see a warning at the bottom of the screen indicating that our photo is being uploaded.\"\"<\/li>\n
  9. Once the process is complete, we will see the message “Photo updated successfully”.\"\"<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    We must keep in mind that the photo change takes effect immediately<\/strong> upon completion of the process. If we do not have a smartphone compatible with the UMH App, we can ask the User Support Center to make the change manually. In this case, the change may take up to 48 hours.<\/p>\n

    Warning<\/strong>\u00a0Regarding privacy:<\/p>\n
      \n
    • Students should be aware that the professor can see their photo.<\/li>\n
    • PAS or PDI can indicate in their identified access if they want their photo to be visible or not, according to the terms dictated by the Data Protection Delegate of UMH in their legal report.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

      Note<\/strong>\u00a0When selecting the photograph, we must consider the following general guidelines:<\/p>\n
        \n
      • Recent color photo with a uniform background.<\/li>\n
      • Photo taken from the front with the head completely uncovered and without dark glasses or any other item that may prevent or hinder the identification of the person.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        We must keep these recommendations in mind because, for example, in the case of students, the photo is a basic identification detail for the professor.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
