No network after changing password with a device that does not have a wired connection

If you change your UMH user password, you may lose internet connection if you use a device that only has Wifi connectivity.

We have detected that after changing the UMH user password, if we want to log in to a device that does NOT have a wired network connection, such as Dell Inspiron 15 5000 series laptops, for example, you need to follow these steps:

  1. If the device is already started:
    • We must lock it right after changing the password (by simultaneously pressing the Windows key and the letter L key, then clicking on “Lock”) and log in again. This step will update the password in the system.
  2. If our device is turned off or we have not yet logged in:
    • On the next login, we will need to use the old password and then perform step 1.
  3. Problems accessing the WIFI network:
    • It is possible that we also have problems accessing the WIFI network because the old password is stored. To solve this, we must forget the network and reconnect it.
