In this article, we will learn how to change our profile picture using the mobile application of the Universidad Miguel Hernández. The application is available for both Android and iOS in their respective app stores.

By uploading the photo, you are authorizing UMH to use it to verify your identity, so you declare that the image is of yourself, does not contain offensive or illegal content, and does not infringe the rights of third parties.

Detailed Guide

Below is the process to follow from the Android version of the application. The process is similar for iOS devices.

1. Access the UMH app and tap on the three horizontal bars that appear at the top left of the screen.
2. When the side menu opens, select the camera icon.
3. Now we can choose whether we want to take a new photo or select one of our photos already in the gallery.
4. If we select the option “Choose from your gallery“, the system will ask us to give the UMH app access to our gallery. For the application to work correctly, we need to select “Allow“.
5. On Android, the system will ask where our files are located. On iOS, once we have given the application full access to our photo library, the photos stored on our device will be displayed.
6. If, on the other hand, we select the option “Take a photo with the camera“, the application will allow us to take a photograph. We must frame our image within the grid that appears and tap “Crop“.
7. Once the photograph is taken, we must accept the terms and conditions and tap “Send PHOTO“.
8. The process may take some time to complete. We will see a warning at the bottom of the screen indicating that our photo is being uploaded.
9. Once the process is complete, we will see the message “Photo updated successfully”.

We must keep in mind that the photo change takes effect immediately upon completion of the process. If we do not have a smartphone compatible with the UMH App, we can ask the User Support Center to make the change manually. In this case, the change may take up to 48 hours.
