How to Prevent a Laptop from Going to Sleep When Closing the Lid

Sometimes we may want our laptop not to go into sleep mode when closing the lid. This can be useful, for example, to work with one or two monitors connected to our device.

Here are the steps to configure this setting:

  1. Locate the “Magnifying Glass” on the taskbar.
  2. Click on the icon and directly type “Power Options“.
  3. Then, click on “Optimize device power and battery usage“.
  4. Now, click on “Lid, power, and sleep button controls“.
  5. Finally, modify the behavior “Closing the lid will make my PC“. By default, it appears as “Sleep”. If you want, for example, the laptop not to go into sleep mode when plugged in, simply change the value to “Do nothing“.
